WIFA ONLINE PRIVACY POLICY
Introduction
Thank you for visiting the WIFA Web site and reviewing our Privacy Policy. This policy is
included to inform you about the information that could be collected online as a result of
visiting the WIFA Web site and not as a result of following a link from our Web site to any
other Web site. All individual Web sites of Arizona state agencies are required to contain a
privacy policy that describes what information is being obtained online, how that information
will be used, and what steps are being taken to ensure the security of customer data.
Your right to privacy is of utmost importance to the state of Arizona in building trust and
confidence when conducting business through the Internet.
Online Customer Service and Alternatives
WIFA offers many of the services online that you might otherwise transact in person.
Our goal is to provide citizens with a more convenient and efficient mean to interact
with our agency. If at any time you choose not to proceed with an online transaction,
your choice will in no way affect your ability to receive our services. If you prefer to
deal with us in person, you may do so at WIFA.
Collection and Use of Information
Information Collected and Stored Automatically. The Web server that hosts WIFA's Web
site automatically gathers certain information about the visit in a standard log file.
This information never identifies you personally and consists of only the following items:
- The Internet domain from which you access the Web site (for example, "xcompany.com"
if you use a private Internet access account, or "yourschool.edu" if you connect from a
university's domain);
- The IP address from which you access the website (an IP address is a number that
is automatically assigned to your computer whenever you are surfing the Web); and
- The date and time of your access.
We use this information to gather statistics about the amount of use the site receives.
Again, we do not automatically record information about you as an individual. WIFA does not
share, sell or otherwise disseminate this information. In some limited cases, WIFA may offer
customers the option of using "cookies" to facilitate navigation of the Web site.
Understanding Cookies
A cookie is a unique identifier sent to your computer by a Web server and stored on your
computer's hard drive. A cookie lets a computer server identify your computer. A cookie is
what allows many sites to greet you upon every return with a message such as,
"Hi, Joe! Welcome back," even before you actively login. At WIFA, we use cookies to
improve your visiting experience and reduce the time it takes for you to complete such
application. Our cookies do not include any sensitive information, but they do help us
track which of our Web pages are visited and what services are most often used. Please
note that in order to use our Site, your Web browser must be configured to accept cookies.
You can rest assured, however, that due to the way the technology of the Internet works,
WIFA does not and cannot use cookies to retrieve personal information from your computer.
Information You Provide
When you apply for Financial or Technical Assistance from WIFA, we ask for
the basics - including borrower name, contact name, contact job title, mailing address,
telephone, fax number, email address just to name a few.
Information collected from an application submitted online will be treated in the same
manner as the information collected from an application submitted on a hard copy to WIFA.
Please know that the information you disclose to the agency will generally become a matter
of public record pursuant to A. R. S. § 39-121, et seq., which means that WIFA may be required
to provide certain information in response to a public records request or in response to a
warrant, subpoena, or other court order.
Please be assured that the application information will be held in strict confidence while
WIFA processes your online transaction. WIFA will not share, sell or otherwise disseminate
this information to any outside person or entity, except as required or authorized by law.
If you choose to provide us with personal information -- by filling out a form with your
personal information and submitting it to us from this Web site -- we use that information
to respond to your message and to help us get you the information you have requested.
We only share the information you provide with another agency if your inquiry relates
to that agency, or as otherwise required by law. Moreover, we do not create an individual
profile with the information you provide or give it to any private organizations.
WIFA does not collect information for commercial marketing.
If you contact us, we will also collect the information you provide that details the
nature of your question or problem to enhance the quality of our Site.
Access and Control Submitted Application Information
Submission of an application is optional. If you choose to apply; the application information
you submit is securely stored and can only be accessed using your email address and assigned
application number. If at any time you wish to update, correct, or access information that you saved to
your application, you may do so by entering your Application Number and Email Address
on the "UPDATE APPLICATION" form that appears throughout the Web-Site.
Information Collected from Children
By statute, all state agencies must comply with the Children's Online Privacy Policy Protection
Act of 1998 ("COPPA"), requiring parental consent before collecting any personal information
from any individual under the age of 13.
